Really hoping they fix this, cause it really isn't fun to fight with a game's basic controls. Justin Wack and the Big Time Hack.Myst 1 remake.Nine Noir. Except they've also gone and gotten rid of the original realMyst's mouse-drive (click and hold LMB and you will move forward, like W) which was the only good thing about realMyst's navigation that made it bareable. Edition) Rhem 3SE (Special Edition) Rhem 4SE (Special Edition) Riddle of the Sphinx. Unlike Myst and Masterpiece Edition, the gameplay of realMyst features free. Myst 5 got it exactly right, but it seems that for RM:ME Cyan made controls too similar to realMyst. The game has been rereleased and remade using real-time 3D graphics. That was a large part of the reason navigation and interaction in the original realMyst was so terribly awkward. Released in 2014, realMyst: Masterpiece Edition moved Myst from point-and-click to a fully navigable graphical experience. The original realMyst didn't have the distinction between a locked and unlocked cursor, so it had some kind of zone at the edge of the screen which will detect the cursor and pan in that direction. That last bit is actually pretty important. And when the cursor was locked, and moved to the edge of the screen, it did NOT pan the view. RMB click again to lock the cursor and freely look around again. Unlike Myst and Masterpiece Edition, the gameplay of realMyst features free-roaming, real-time 3D graphics instead of point-and-click pre-rendered stills. The sky in Myst is slightly whiter in the classic edition, and there's a general graininess (dithering) caused by the 8-bit. RealMyst: Interactive 3D Edition is a remake developed by Cyan and Sunsoft and published by Ubisoft in November 2000 for Windows PCs, and in January 2002 for Mac. I find overall the graphical difference is hardly noticeable. You aren't missing anything by playing the Masterpiece Edition. Exactly like any other FPS, and with a simple RMB click you unlock the cursor so you can move it around the screen. The two versions are nearly identical, but the original one has slightly grainier graphics. Myst 5's free move controls were perfect. Yet surprisingly Cyan has implemented it incorrectly here. Without that mode I just stick with the FPS style control scheme. But classic-plus is the perfect combination for a 3d adventure title. And of course with WASD controls your constantly holding the keys, normal fare for pretty much every game out there. But from the user perspective, classic mode involves far too much clicking. I can understand if it wasn't a priority, and would take a lot of effort to implement. Unfortunately this game doesn't have classic-plus mode, which was my personal favorite. It had classic, classic plus (click to move around the room, but free to look around), and a free move mode (like typical FPS controls). Personally I'd prefer Cyan replicate they control scheme they had in Myst 5. But I just got the game, and the controls are really a major turn off and really get in the way of just moving around the game in comfortable fashion.
